Supply Chain diagnostic

FAQ

why are you offering this?

With more than half our clients we find that they are typically certain as to what their supply chain problems are but they aren’t always sure what is causing it. In these cases we typically offer a diagnostic of their supply chain. Given the level of detail and bespoke nature of these diagnostics, the investment is larger than some organizations would prefer to make up-front.

To bridge that gap we created this supply chain diagnostic to give the same type of information of risks and opportunities to clients at a very competitive cost. Clients can use the information as they like: to simply understand the risks and opportunities better internally, to show better risk management procedures to customers, they may choose to take internal action to address the issues identified that are most critical or impactful; or they may seek external help from our firm or another service provider.

We know both the great value in understanding your supply chain and the extreme risk in not understanding it. We hope that this makes that understanding available to more organizations of all sizes and in all phases of their growth; from start-up to established market leader.

what areas of my supply chain do you evaluate?

The diagnostic is designed to look at four major areas of your supply chain:

1. Supply Base

2. Procurement Organization

3. Inventory

4. Commercial

how long does it take?

The diagnostic will take approximately 3 – 6 weeks to complete; assuming the timely engagement from you and your team.

how much does it cost?

A flat fee will be charged for the diagnostic; we can provide an estimate after our initial consultation. The intent of this diagnostic is to be extremely cost-effective so that organizations of all sizes can better understand their supply chain and varies based on the size and complexity of your supply chain.

what do you need from me?

We will need a detailed, clean set of data to be able to perform the analysis required. The information form has very specific detail on what data points are required.  If you can’t provide the needed level of detail, we may still be able to complet the diagnostic, but the report may not be as complete. (We will make that 100% clear before you decide to move forward.) If you have data that is not yet in a usable format, we offer data cleansing and refinement from raw inputs as an add-on service.

what is the value?

The value of better understanding the specific process(es) governing procurement and your overall supply chain can highlight many risks and opportunities. This allows you to drive actions and resources on those that will be most impactful to your business. The implementation of the noted improvements will likely lead to:

- Improved product availability,

- Reduced overall required inventory value,

- Better working capital due to payment terms,

- Better efficiency in the work of the supply chain team members,

- Better understanding of your supplier risk, and areas where mitigation should be targeted,

- How your supply chain impacts your carbon footprint,

- And many, many more

how and where is it done?

This diagnostic is meant to be a high-value, lower-cost solution. As such, the diagnostic is completed virtually to avoid the further costs of travel. The process review is higher-level because of this.

RBBMC will use information received in the data set requests, interviews with key personnel (virtual) and surveys sent to the members of your team to better understand the current-state processes in your organization and its unique needs.

There are multiple options to add to the diagnostic, including but not limited to:

- In-person interviews

- In-person process reviews, including process mapping for current state

- Data cleansing and refinement from raw inputs

- Other services as needed

what is in the report?

- High-level feedback on key areas reviewed.

- A list of targeted areas you can address to mitigate risk and improve your business. RBBMC will include opportunities and proposed actions that can be addressed and implemented in immediate, medium, and long-term time horizons.

- Estimated impact of implementation of the suggested items to your business.

- A virtual report out with your leadership, and others you want to include, to review the findings.

- If you would like some examples of this type of feedback, please request the information form, it has detail on this in the Appendix.
